About Me

I graduated last year from Southampton University, where I was studying and gained a BA (Hons) in Popular Music and Production. Within my degree I studied many different areas including copyright, advertising, marketing and publishing.

I also gained experience in these areas at University working along side the Teenage Cancer Trust promoting a CD of 1980’s children’s theme songs, where local bands covered a favourite childhood theme and twisted it to make it unique to their musical genre. For this I needed to contract the songwriters and publishers involved with the song’s used on the CD to gain copyright permission.

Since I have left university I have gone on to work with PRS (Performing Right Society) as a music/market researcher, this role involves contacting venue proprietors, liaising with the performer and obtaining information so PRS can distribute royalty payments to their members fairly and accurately as possible.

I believe it would be best to take what I have learnt at university and at PRS to a higher level which I believe I could do within your company.

I would love to be given the chance to increase my knowledge in copyrighting and publishing as it is this area of work where I would like to achieve a career.

I am also able to relocate if necessary.
