Experience Planner - Digital Consulting
About Me
Product Management at PayPal (my current role) and eBay (my earlier job at San Jose) were unusual kind of jobs.
The jobs were high pressured in sense in that there were high chances on landing in huge trouble if the product fails,
The job had let me pull together multiple functions or deal with people from multiple functions ranging from- marketing, legal,Sales, Engineering, Operations, Technical Account management, User support, and many more, to run the product, yet with not many
direct reports. The fun was in the fact that the product itself was mine, and my responsibility. Albeit, a widget for travel site or a full suite of solutions targeting pan European C2C market, the fun was owning the responsibility of the project from idea,
proof of concept, revenue justifications to launch.
I think some of my strengths that helped handle these roles and earlier fast paced consulting roles in industries ranging from travel to manufacturing
were
Influencing
people, a trait that needs credibility, communication skills, and a people-skills
Making decisions. I believe that a manager must be able to take decisions, take responsibility for those decisions and live with it
