1. How is Superscout different from other job boards?

Superscout is free for Employers and Recruitment Agencies to create a Profile of their company and there is a small cost to publish Job Ads. Candidates create dynamic Profiles, which can include photos and video, and use this to apply to the Job Ads listed on Superscout.

Employers can build a following of candidates who connect to them, either by applying to a job ad or by pressing the "Follow" button on an Employer Profile. Doing so will display their full candidate profile to that employer. Employers can then communicate with their connected candidates, telling them what it's like to work for them and keeping candidates updated on what's happening.

Anyone can search the database of Candidates for free, but can only view Anonymous Profiles, protecting the identity of Candidates. Employers and Agencies can nudge Candidates to Apply to their Job Ad. If a Candidate applies to a Job Ad they reveal their identity by opening their full Profile to that company. If they say "No thanks" then the Employer or Agency will not know who they are.

10. How do I apply to Jobs using Superscout?
You must create a basic Candidate Profile in order to apply to Job Ads. The more you tell the Employer about yourself the more likely you are to receive a positive response. Superscout Profiles are designed specifically to enable Candidates to stand out from the crowd, to display your personality and skills. We'd strongly encourage you to make the most of the content features we offer. Remember, the only companies that will see your full Profile are those you authorise to do so by applying for a Job.
11. What information is visible in my Anonymous Profile?
Anyone can view an anonymous profile. They don't have to be logged in. However, anonymous profiles contain no identifying information. Superscout automatically hides your name, photographs, video, references, the names of any companies or academic institutions and the text explaining your work experience. This leaves a basic impression of your experience, your Summary, the Job Roles you've had, the Industries you've worked in, the Years you worked in each role and your Skills and Languages and how you rate them. Employers or agencies who like the look of your anonymous profile will nudge you to view their job ad. You can then choose either to apply, which reveals your full profile to the company that posted the job ad, or click "No Thanks" in which case the company will receive a message to say you do not wish to apply and your details and identity will not be revealed to them.
12. What happens when I apply to a Job Ad?
When you click on the Apply button on a Job Ad, you enable the Employer or Agency that has posted the Job Ad to view your full Profile, including your name and contact details. You may be contacted by the Employer via Superscout's messaging system or they may choose to contact you via any of the contact details you include in your Profile. You will see relevant activity updates and messages in your personal Newsfeed and on the Requests page.
13. Why should I follow an Employer or Agency?
  • Following a company makes your full profile, and contact details available to that company.
  • Keep abreast of developments while gaining a better understanding of the company and its culture
  • Benefit from some of the rewards companies may offer their connected Candidates from time to time (these may vary from company to company, and may not be offered at all)
14. What happens when I connect to an Employer or Recruitment Agency?
When you connect to an employer or recruitment agency as a candidate you will open your full profile and CV to that company. There are currently two ways in which you can make this connection:
  • When a candidate applies to a job ad they will automatically be connected to the company that posted the job ad
  • When a candidate presses the "Follow" button on an employer profile
15. Who can see my Candidate Profile?
Only employers or recruitment agencies whose job ads you apply to or which you "Follow" can see your full candidate profile, including your name and contact details. Anyone can search our database of anonymous profiles, but these have all identifying information removed.
16. Who can see my Employer Profile?
Anyone can view Employer Profiles without even logging in. All Employer Profiles are also indexed by all major search engines.
17. Who can see my Job Ad?
Anyone can view Job Ads without even logging in. All Job Ads are also indexed by all major search engines.
18. How can I check on the progress of my Applications or Job Ads?
Your activity and any messages you receive are viewable in your Newsfeed and Requests pages. Only you or those you give access to are able to view these pages, by logging in to your Account. Superscout facilitates and encourages the giving of timely feedback to Candidates by Employers and Recruitment Agencies. However, if you require personal feedback on any of your applications, you should contact the Employer or Recruitment Agency who advertised the Job Ad. Unfortunately, we do not hold any details of what is happening to your application so it is only the advertisers of the Job Ads that will be able to respond to your request.
19. How safe is my information?

22. What work permit or visa do I need to work in the EU?

We are not involved in the recruitment selection process and our website simply advertises vacancies for Employers and Recruitment Agencies seeking employees and candidates. We have no control over the regulations imposed by the Government concerning the need for work permits and visas.

We are aware that often recruiters are not willing to sponsor candidates for work permits and will give preference to suitable candidates who are already authorised to work in the EU. It is entirely at the discretion of the Employers and Recruitment Agencies who advertise on our site as to whether they will assist with this process.

You should contact the recruiters to whom you wish to apply to find out if this is the case. We do not hold information on recruiters who offer this service. For more information on visas and work permits please visit the following sites:
